These are a few reasons, in images, why I take my sketchbook on holiday, always.
Because you never know what you might find or when you will come across something that just asks to be sketched.
Firstly when it’s a trip in the trusty VW Camper Van I will always include a sketch of it, whether it’s before we leave home or when we set up camp.
Then there is always the café, the view from it, or the coffee that you are drinking.
Cities, towns and villages have innumerable things to sketch. Windows, doors, spires and towers if time is short, and of course the buildings themselves when time is on your side.
Then there are the hidden corners, the unexpected monuments, the flower pots, and the parks.
Keep a spare sketch kit in the car, you never know what is round the corner.
If you want to sketch with me on location then my up and coming trip to Morocco could be the answer.
